A colposcopy is an examination which is recommended after a positive or abnormal Pap smear result. After colposcopy decisions can be made about your ongoing treatment.
For persistent or high-grade changes to the cervix, found after an abnormal pap smear reading, there is a "wire loop " diathermy treatment (sometimes called a LEEP or LLETZ procedure) which is often done in the rooms after local anaesthetic, saving the patient both money and time and being both diagnostic and 100% curative.
Dr Ferry has performed thousands of these highly effective procedures.
